Wiring 3-Pin Plug

PLEASE TREAT ELECTRICITY WITH CARE - THINK SAFE/BE SAFE:

It is important to know or refresh understanding the meaning of colours used for electrical wiring. This is because there are new and old versions of coloured wiring you need to know. You need to know because in this day and age of moulded plugs exposure to an appliance's/device's coloured wires may happen when they are exposed from a faulty plug or ruptured cabling. If the wires are 'live' then there can be a danger of "electrical shock" or, worse still, "electrocution" (death).

Always switch off the power sources of a device before starting working on it. That means:

1) Turn off the device's power button
2) Turn off the plug socket switch
3) Remove the plug from the socket.
4) Press the device's power button one more time to drain any power left in the device.
